I'll drive for about 3 to 5 minutes, and then the car jerks like it's going to die, and sometimes it does. Car runs fine in humid weather, but terrible in hot weather. Cannot get a code for it to come up. Have replaced, spark plugs, engine relay, and almost everything but EGR valve which is on order. Has anyone had this problem or know what it could be?

Try the fuel pump, or different grade of gas?
check for battery sliding forward and grounding pos post on hood brace, if not then possibly short in cooling fan switch/motor windings. i have 94 jetta. sounds rather like an intermittent short as i know how touoch jetta ecus are with any signigicant voltage drop, could be just a loose wire.
Sounds like the HT coil is breaking down when it gets hot. Cheap and easy to try a replacement.
