Hi, I'm thinking about buying an Apple MacBook Pro 13'' 2011 model with the intel core i5 processor, however from the Apple Store they are around $1400 (Australia). I have heard that students can get $100 discount or discount of some sort. My question is, I am in year 10 and go to a high school within Queensland; can I get discount on Apple products as a student? Thanks guys and ill give 100* to the best answer!
Update:Thanks for the answers guys! They helped heaps. My mum works at my school anyway so I'll just get her to get the discount! Cheers :)

Hey! I just bought my 13" MacBook pro a few hours ago and I am absolutely in love. I can't recommend the computer enough. In the US the student discount is only for college students. Austrailia might be different but I doubt it. I got the discount because my mom is taking a summer college class so she qualified. And I personally wouldnt do it, but apples website doesn't ask you for any proof that you're a student. So it's up to you. Good luck!:)

As far as I know after just reviewing the documentation, the discount is for College level students and individuals employed in the education field. So someone who works at a K12 school could buy one with a discount, but not you as a student. See source link.
I understand that you are interested in Mac and saving money, but if you wanted to purchase a comparable Windows based PC with an i5 processor, it would cost about $800-$900 max with no sale discount being considered in that price.
Mac is obviously the "cool" person's computer due to Apple's ingenious social engineering, but if you strip away the social perception, all you're left with is a more expensive computing solution with an App Store and a different interface.
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro. The state-of-the-art dual-core Intel i5 processor delivers up to 2x faster performance (over the previous generation of MacBook Pro). New Thunderbolt technology lets you connect high-performance peripherals and high-resolution displays to a single port, and transfer files at lightning speeds. And with the new built-in FaceTime HD camera, you can make astonishingly crisp HD video calls.
This Apple MacBook Pro MC700LL/A is really great computer. Case is solid, keyboard is superb, design is excellent. I used Mac's before at work and PC's at home, and I always thought that MAC is to expensive. But after buying this one I think it is really worth it. I was considering first buying 15" one; but that one is just to big and to expensive. This one is best deal.
Just bought the i5 and upgraded ram to 8GB. I purposely tried to slow it down with parallels, hand brake (ripping a DVD) , and youtube. I couldn't do it, I was running faster than a wanted man from the law.
