I used to attend church and found it a very moving, uplifting experience. Now when I come across a radio or TV preacher, I'm like, "Holy f*ck! I used to actually think this stuff made sense?"
I don't imagine God--I know he's a fiction. I imagine the lives of people who base their daily decisions on superstition and magical thinking.
“Tell a devout Christian that his wife is cheating on him, or that frozen yogurt can make a man invisible, and he is likely to require as much evidence as anyone else, and to be persuaded only to the extent that you give it. Tell him that the book he keeps by his bed was written by an invisible deity who will punish him with fire for eternity if he fails to accept its every incredible claim about the universe, and he seems to require no evidence what so ever.” ― Sam Harris
I reach a factual conclusion that the person professing the existence of this god is unable to distinguish fantasy from reality. As such, I don't trust their judgement, for they have already shown that theirs is as non existent as their claimed deity is.
God is the universe. There is only one thing, eternal energy, which cannot be created or destroyed, it only changes form. It "creates" us all, and moves in an endless cycle, it is everything, and is the only thing that can be called God, or the only thing that can be proven to exist that deserves the title, regardless of whether it has any intelligence apart from the intelligence of the infinite number of creatures that it forms.
I imagine a higher power that is greater than myself. It may not be the same God that they imagine. I only know that there is a force in the universe stronger than me, and whatever or whoever that is, that is my idea and vision of God.
