I installed the app and everything worked fine. Or so it seemed. When I run the program, it gives me an error and the app won't boot. Could it be because I don't have a certain software that it requires? I really have no clue.
Update:"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d). Click on OK to terminate the application." I just finished the installation and it won't open.

More likely, you haven't properly registered it. 3D Studio Max has very aggressive anti-piracy protection. You need to call AutoDesk and get the proper authorization code in order to use the software. If you haven't done that, do it. If you got the program from someone else, don't bother calling; they'll disable your copy and the copy on the computer of the person who gave it to you.

what was the error? it's pretty much impossible to diagnose a problem if you don't know what the error was.
