I am planning on going to go to a community college to get my general education done. If it takes me 2 years to finish that and I transfer into a UC school to get my bachelor's degree, am I going to have to go through an extra 4 years to get my BA (because BA degree USUALLY takes 4 years) or does my 2 years in the community college contribute to the 4 year span?
Update:General Education classes add to the degree as well?

depending on the 4 year college you will transfer too, most of the credits you receive from the community college will transfer over....so yes of course this counts towards the degree
however, depending on what you want to the degree to be in (math, chem, bio, english, psych) you will have to take the right classes at the community college so that the credits will count for that degree....
if you take random classes at CC that dont count for anything, you will need to fulfill all the requirements for the degree when to get to the 4 year college, and that might take more than 2 years..
but if you do everything right you can get it all done in 4 years total
good luck
yes every degree requires gen ed classes (like english, histories, social science, a natural science) so these shall count as well!!
