I've had my Belkin N600 wireless router now for about a year, and it runs perfectly. However, when I tried to access the router's settings today to routinely change the password, the page wouldn't load.
''router''
Or..
192.168.2.1
Are what I usually enter into the address bar, but it fails to load each and every time. I've tried resetting the router and setting up the Belkin software on my desktop once again, but to no avail, the page just will not load.
I assumed it might be server instability on Belkin's end, but that's presuming the page is hosted by them. Would anyone know if this is an issue with Belkin, or something with me?
Update:Cindi, that's all pointless. I know how to do all that, but to be able to do all that you first need to be able to access the router's settings via its default IP, which won't load in my browser for some reason.
MarianasTrench; my desktop PC is connected with an Ethernet cable by default, the router is just the intermediary between my modem and my desktop, but I would like to be able to use my mobile devices that all rely on the wireless router's ability. Since I can't access the router's settings, I can't change the password.

Enter "192.168.2.1" as the router's default IP address in the Address bar, then press[Enter].
Step 3:
Enter your router's Password then click Submit.
Step 4:
Click Channel and SSID under Wireless.
Step 5:
Click Security under Wireless.
Step 6:
Uncheck the Obscure PSK box to display the password in the Pre-shared Key (PSK)field.
You should have successfully checked the wireless settings of your Belkin router now.
Try connecting to the same address while being connected to the router via Ethernet cord. Reset the router and reboot your machine/laptop... See if that will get you to the router.
Have you rebooted to get a new ip already? Can you ping other machines?
