I want to get a laptop/netbook that is under $500. I need to get one for school and even though my school makes us rent laptops we also have the option of buying our own.
My requirements:
-light (less than 3.5 pounds)
-fast (good internet speed, runs programs fast or at a good speed.)
-able to download a few programs/games (i want to download Itunes and maybe maplestory?)
-good amount of memory and able to store all my documents (I use the computer for practically all my classes w/ the exception of notes)
-can use/type in different languages (for my japanese class)
-substantial battery life (at least long enough to get through my day (6 hours or more)
-two or more usb ports or docts
-audio port and microphone
It would be nice if it could have a cd doct and I DO NOT WANT it to have a removal battery (my school computer has one [lenovo] and it falls out a lot.)

With your requirements, you should get a netbook, but you might not get the non-removal battery thing..... Check out these top netbooks http://www.squidoo.com/top-10-netbooks
