Best laptops for grad student $800 or under?
I'll be using it primarly for word processing, the internet downloading music, and watching DVDs. I would like it to be fast, have a decent memory, and CD/DVD burner.

dell offers notebook machines for under 350.
Consider bumping 800 up to 1K and going with a toshiba (even the satellites are getting relly nice.)
