I am a Medic in the US Army who returned to America from Afghanistan about a month ago. I have had alot of trouble finding a job since I got home, and I know there are some sites out there that have jobs specifically for veterans. I was hoping someone with experience could point me to some good ones?
Thanks

Thanks for serving. Best of luck.
I just retired from 20years active duty and it's tough out there. Let me give you a couple suggestions: Be persistant, every day, at least 2 or 3 hours a day go on line and put in resumes.. WWW.usajobs.com is the best if you are looking for a FEDERAL Job, make sure each time you submit a application your resume matches the job description.. USAJobs is a long process but well worht it if you get in. Second go find your local ONESTOP Shop/Unemployment office and apply ASAP for unemployment. If you have the 9/11 GI Bill go to college and you maybe able to get BAH and free tuition while attending fulltime college... Also since you are a medic go on line and find who your local hospitals are and apply to them, think about getting your local state license for paramedic most places I beleive will require this certification. http://pfi.dod.mil/PFI_Online.html this is a good one if you want to take a tour somewhere on long term orders, https://mobcop.army.mil/tod here is another one if you want to do a tour somewhere. Check with your local state on what is there website under unemployment. I have done ALOT of research on difference websites that say they are military friendly but they all point your back to USAJOBs if you are looking for Federal jobs.
If you are in the Reserves ask your unit where there military technical jobs on line are located.. I am telling it it takes persistance and hard work to get a good job... It can be done I did it.. Once you go to your onestop center in your home town and bring your DD214 and talk to a vet counselor and get your name on thier mailing list they will send you job notifications as least once a week before they are published to all the other people.. Good luck
Visit www.veteranscareerfair.com. The site will host a virtual career fair on Nov. 10th in partnership with the VetSuccess.gov and Joining Forces and it's free. Recruiters will be online to chat with you - the last event had 55,000 jobs represented. Thank you for your service and good luck!
It's too easy, as I'm sure you have already checked USAJobs.gov. Nationwide, by job, series, location, salary, etc. Glad you got back from Afghanistan well. Thanks for wearing the uniform. Take care!
