Try THIS vegan ice cream cookbook first :-D: http://veggieparadise.tumblr.com/post/114876582/ch...
You do not need any "vegan ice cream substitutes", REAL vegan ice cream is BETTER in taste and creaminess than any other :-D
Vegan cheese is a different pair of shoes, but I do my own thing and prepare perfectly fine and creamy vegan cheese out of strained soy yogurt or pureed tofu (see here: http://veggieparadise.tumblr.com/post/140858527/gl... ) :-D But you can always be "almost vegan", no sweat and no drama are "required" in life if we do not want it.
Make your own with cocnut milk.
Add in some peanut butter, carob or chocolate chips, marshmallows made with agar agar, almonds - whatever you desire!
Coconut Milk makes a totally bitchen ice cream!
That soy stuff tastes like chalky crap, it is full of preservatives and is really just an ungodly franken food. Have fun, make you own!
Also with cheese pick up some nutritional yeast and cashews, there are a gaggle of recipes out there for making your own!
No.
Buy some Purely Decadent Chocolate Obsession.
Try Turtle Mountain products, especially the Purely Decadent range.

Or try making your own ice cream if you feel adventurous:

But try the Turtle Mountain line first.
Trader Joes has a chocolate chip with cherry ice cream that I love {:
I second turtle mountain coconut milk based icecream :)
its creamy, the same consistency of icecream without the phlegmy aftertaste (and obviously, the unneeded consumption of dairy products), and has great flavors.
so delicious chocolate peanut butter is really good. and available at local supermarkets.
