Briggs and Stratton 14 HP?
Riding lawnmower (Murray). We adjusted the valves because it was very hard to turn the motor over and it ran fine. The next day the motor would not crank again. I can't even turn it over by hand. We tried to even with the spark plug out and it will not crank at all. Sprayed WD 40 in the spark plug hole to see if that would help and still nothing. What happened and why would it be locked up?
Update:The motor ran fine after we adjusted the valves, oil was new everything seemed fine. The next day it would not crank over at all like it seized up but how when it ran fine one day and the next morning ...nothing???

Depending on the model of the engine some of those engines had oil pumps and if the oil got low or the pump failed I bet it has been running with little or no oiling and finally seized up. WD-40 isn't going to save that!
If you cant turn it over with the plug out its seized up, Why? normally from lack of maintenance, as in changing the oil or even bothering to check if it has oil.
