Okay, Here is the deal. I went to the Gyno today to have a papsmeare and got STD tested for EVERYTHING. I told the doctor that I have been having discharge- kinda fowel smelling and she asked me what color and I said yellow/clear. She took a sample and tested it and is treating me for vaginal bacteria- not sexually transmitted. Well, later that day, I noticed that it is not yellow! its brown. I had my period last week so I am sure it is not blood and I could be pregnant... not sure though. I dont get results back for the STD testing for a whole week so my questions are:
1. Do you think the brown discharge is due to the bacteria issue I am being treated for?
2. Would the doctor been able to tell (without me asking) If I was pregnant when giving me a papsmeare? I didnt ask for a pregnancy test
3. can the doctor tell if I have certain STD's prior to my lab work coming back?

1. Yes, it could very well be.
2. No.
3. Yes, some STDs are detectable just by symptoms.
It can be from the bacteria issue. Most gynos give you a pregnancy test did you pee in a cup for them? Not they can't always tell unless you have something like herpes or vaginal warts that visibly present. They go on what you tell them and the labs tell them.
Uh - Oh....Don't mean to put you in a panic and I hope your results come back normal, but I recognized that symptom. A friend of mine caught that years ago and its not really popular so you may haven't heard of it. Good Luck and don't bug out til you get the results.
