With the proper diagnosis of either a LD, ADD, or both, by law you are entitled to extra testing time. Maybe this can be that extra bit of encouragement for you to see a doctor who can properly diagnose you. Don't be hard on yourself! Intelligent people fail exams everyday! Good luck =)
I have it too, but don't worry about those rude replies. It can be overcome you can do yoga and relaxation classes may help too.
It means that we can not concentrate for long periods so when we are learning we need to break up the time we spend on it.
I found out that mine was partly due to an allergy to artificial food additives and now eat only fresh meat fruit and vegetables. Even bread is home baked. It has made the world of difference to me.
There is no medication. They did try to use relaxing drugs but they did not work.
ADD can affect your learning because you cant stay focused on one thing for long. You are by no means stupid and ADD is very common. My brother had it and he was a straight "A" student. You just have to force yourself to stay focused even if it is hard or the subject is boring.
Honestly sometimes you really don't need meds. my brother took meds for it then he also acted differently so he refused to take them . He literally forced himself to concentrate and had to train his body. he did very well with out meds. Sometimes MIND OVER BODY can do wonders.
Well obviously.. Did your mother just "tell" you, you have that? Or did you get diagnoses PROPERLY by a doctor? You would know if you could get meds for it, as you would have seen a doctor.. Which leads me to think your mum diagnosed you, herself..
Edit: So if the meds helped, go back on them.
yes it can. i think i develop it too, somewhat because my mind drifts really easier. this prevents people from focusing on what is said, thus making learning harder. i'm not sure if you can get med for it, but i think physcology would work too
More than likely yes, if you can't concentrate then obviously you're not gonna be able to do your best at whatever you're doing.
