I have this one game that was for the playstation one that i now like to use on the ps2, but recently i saw little bits of white stuff stuck to the top of the disc and a bit of specks of that white stuff underneath the disk. i went online and typed in Disk Rot on Google and saw pictures that did kinda look like the stuff my disk had.
So my question is,
Can this damage my playstation 2? i don't know much about disk rotting, but i did read that it causes the game to not work. so far my game has been working, but i only tried it once because i thought that maybe it could damage the console itself.
does any one know if that could happen?
Update:I mean, can the disc itself, that shows tiny signs of rot, damage the console. i don't believe disc rot can happen in a console, but what about the disc, that's rotting, affecting the console?

It could be just the did. If it does this for all discs it could be the PS2
