Usually nope you have [at the place I work at] 60 days from the date you paid the ticket [letting them know you are taking the school option, and paying the extra that it requires to allow you to take the driving school, DO NOT confuse this with that being a payment for the actual school]
The thing is the reason why there is no extension given is that once you make that option to take the school [all it does is keep points off YOUR license] is that the state is informed and it is them that only gives you the set period of time [where I work like I said it is an extra 60 days] if we have not entered the certificate of completion by that date they [the state] adds the points on and it is pretty much a done deal at that point.
