i have a 1997 Nissan maxima GLE. My home has a very steep driveway, a driveway i have no choice but to park in. i live on a cul-de-sac so the paper boy/trash people complain cars get in the way if driveways are not used. i literally have to force my car from park to reverse when i back out of my driveway. Same goes for any hill facing down or up. if im on any sort of incline at all. i feel like one of these times im going to really mess something up. i tried applying the parking break before shifting into park no luck. how can i fix this

Your parking brake needs fixing because it is not holding the car properly. I have done this on steep inclines and it works just fine.
It could be a because of the transmission pressure on the Pawl. Which is a pin in the transmission to stop it from moving. That is the main reason for a parking brake. Make sure the parking brake is in working order and won't stick and cause brake lockup.
Use the parking brake, when you pull up, before putting it in park, and before taking your foot off the brakes. It is getting stuck because of the pressure you are putting on the park pawl in the transmission, as it is not meant to hold your vehicle stationary. Using the parking brake after you put it in park wont help at all.
Sounds like you need to get the parking brake fixed first ,The parking brake should hold on any hill ,So do that first B-4 any thing ,Relly thats the only thing that you can do ,
regular brake, neutral, parking brake, let go regular brake, observe that there is no rolling, regular brake, go straight into park without pausing in reverse do it fast, tell me how it works for you....
good luck
