Catholic schools often have a couple Jewish teachers.
My husband taught History at a Catholic school for 16 years.
They are respectful and tolerant of other beliefs and often when students go to their own religion class, they will offer a separate class for other students who do not wish to take Catholic 101 (For lack of a better name for those classes).
You would enjoy it there.
Catholic schools are well known for providing excellent educations. Here in the UK we hear all the time about 'lapsed' Catholics desperate to get their children into these schools :)
That said, there are usually lots of good Jewish schools too.
Personally, I'm AGAINST *any* single faith school. I don't think it's helpful, I don't think it's necessary.
And my question is; if you went to a Catholic school, where would you be learning about Judaism? Do you go to cheder class at weekends?
Ultimately, it will be up to your parents. All you can do is be honest with them and tell them this is the school you want to go to.
why would u want to go to catholic school? do u relate to anything jewish or ur jewish just because u were born that way? cuz if u relate to it then things that they will teach in catholic school will contradict things that u believed ur whole life, and that could confuse u, cause resentment toward ur school and/or toward the way u were brought up, cause conflict between u and ur family, etc. there are jewish schools out there that also have great extra curriculars, i dont know where u live but i know that in the tristate area there are many schools like that. i dont know ur affiliation, but u can ask ur guidance couselor and principal if they know of any schools that have the characteristics ur looking for while at the same time share the same perspective as u
There were non-Catholic Christians and Jewish girls in my Catholic high school. They had to take the same religion classes, but approached them more as history of Christianity than as learning about their own belief system.
I'm Jewish, and my parents told me that for a while they were considering sending me to the catholic school.
many people feel that the quality of education at a private school is better.
Catholic High Schools can generally give some of the best education.
I had a friend that went to one and they never found out (till yr5) he wasn't baptised.
i went to a catholic high school and many of the students were not catholic. some were even atheist but still went. its the education, not the religion, that's important.
Go to the school which can provide the best education. Just ignore the religious part.
I did, it's fine. Most of the girls there weren't catholic
That's more of a choice made up to your parents.
