Prostration can certainly be done within a Catholic context; however, it is not the normal position for prayers during a regular Mass. A parishioner doing full prostration during a standard Mass would only be drawing undue attention to him/herself. At home, you can adopt any position that makes you feel more spiritual.

a priest lied down (prostrated himself) and prayed during an Easter service i was shanghied into attending by some relatives
