Hi :)
Before you try that try CHI silk infusion with a blow dryer.
The cost depends some places in NY will do it for as little
as $300. but I've heard of it being as high as $600 for
the Japanese hair straightening. Also, depends on length
of hair. The hourly rate is usually like $80.00-$100.
Ciao*
The cost depends on where you get it done and the type of hair. Longer hair obviously costs more than short. The prices can range from €100 to €600approx. i was almost charged €400 for it until I found a place recommended by my friend that only charged €100. Shop around a bit and make sure to ask for a quote BEFORE getting your hair done.
Go to a place that have been recommended as there are a lot of horror stories!
It depends on what type of straightening system you get. I got it done twice. First, I paid a lot,( I simply asked for permanent straightening) she put the straightening cream in my hair and apparently it was going to "defrizz it and cut the straightening time in half", hence, making the treatment better for my hair in the end. It didn't work at all and was a waste of money.
Make sure you ask for the Yuko system. it does damage your hair but it saves SOOOO much time. Although it doesn't dry completely poker straight, it doesn't dry curly or frizzy. Basicly it dries in whatever way you leave your hair (ie,scrunch it up , it will dry wavy). Another great thing is that if you straighten it properly...it will stay straight for the night, regardless of wind or humidity...mine used to curl or frizz as soon as I stepped out of the house.
The only other problem I noticed with the system is that your hair can look very dry. this can be avoided if you put serum in it and dry it properly with a hairdryer...do this and it will look lovely and healthy.
I recommend it, but only if you find a good place that know what they are doing. Also, if you do get it done make sure to take good care of it and be gentle as the hair breaks more easily.
Good luck
First, please know that when you chemically straighten your hair, the texture of your hair is changed FOREVER until it starts to grow out. Chemical straighteners weaken the hair follicle by stripping it to make it straight. I used to relax my hair every 4 months. For 3 years, I have not relaxed my hair and it is SOOO much healthier (and less breakage to boot!). If you get your hair straightened in a salon, you're looking at about $80.00. I used to relax my own hair, however.
I got my hair done Friday, (remember, I have no relaxer). It took about 2 hours but my hair has NEVER been this straight - not enven when I relaxed it! Plus my hair is so healthy and strong now.
If you do straighten it, be careful and take very good care of your hair (find a great conditioner). I would advise you not to straighten it because of the reasons I mentioned above, but if you must, make sure you have a professional do it for you if you have virgin hair.
BE NATURAL!!
ok look, u can get ur hair relaxed- but just make sure that u go to someone who is experienced in this chemical service.
i shouldn't cost u more than $50- $60 (depending on how long ur hair is) and it won't damage ur hair- but keep in mind that once u start doing this u must maintain it. ur hair will become frizzy or dry if u either don't maintain it or if u get it done over the parts that have already been straightened out. a relaxer is the strongest chemical service anyone can get in their hair so i suggest u have a client consultation with a stylist first before u get it done. and make sure that u get ur ends cut every time u get it done.
the cost will vary depending on the salon. some places use perm solution mixed with flour to weigh it down and other places use chemicals designed for permanent straightening. you might find it best to ask your local salons which method they use and how much it will cost.
other factors that may change this are the length and density of your hair.
it will do some damage to your hair because you are using chemicals to change the bonding structure but it may be less harsh than using a straightener every day.
your hair may still have a frizzy look to it depending on how curly your hair is but some good anti frizz should solve the problem.
a good quality shampoo and conditioner (salon brand) will help prevent dryness.
good luck :o)
OMG! I have the EXACT same hair problem! I get it chemically straightened every 6-8 months and it costs about $120. It is TOTALLY worth it! Ur hair will b so much more relaxed and easy 2 handle! Go 4 it!
i have no idea how much chemical straightening cost in the u.s. it wont make your hair dry and frizzy or cause breakage once it is properly moisturized daily and have regular treatments. The chemical straightener must suit ur hair type and texture or u may suffer scalp burns when the hair creme is too strong for your hair. otherwise it is pretty safe for your hair.
try smoothing ur hair with matrix. i already use it and love it!
ur hair will look shiny and naturally straight..
and based on my experience, it's even make my hair healthier
where do you live? if u live in Indonesia (i live there), it cost only about $50
