first, to make it easy, bromine, and iodine will react to anything with double or triple bonds.. alkanes are almost inert so it would not react to either iodine or bromine.. i could not remember the reaction of these chemicals with bromine + iron. Potassium permanganate is an oxidant. hexane would have no reaction, but cyclohexene and hexyne would be oxidized.. try searching about "oxidation of alkenes and alkynes" and tests for unsaturation.
