I am going to attend grade 12 in a Japanese high school next year, and I was just wondering what courses they usually take, and how they work. Like how many classes a day, how many/long are the breaks/lunch, and stuff like that! Thanks a lot!

You should also note that classes change every day so unlike my school in America where I had Math 1st period, English 2nd, etc etc (or whatever it was) every day in Japan is different and there are students responsible for going and writing down the next day's schedule (after lunch) and posting it in the classroom. So one day you might have English 1st, Math 2nd, Kokugo (Japanese studies) 3rd, etc, the next day you might have Math 1st, then PE, etc. and while you'll have math 4 times a week, it'll be on different days and at different times from week to week.
Cakes answer is great. If you want to know more about the subjects though, I would check out this website. Assuming that you already know at least intermediate Japanese, this is a great site. It is a review of all the material a high school student will cover in each class in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade of High School. (FYI: high school is only 3 years, equivalent to our sophmore, junior, and senior years)

The left block is TV, right block is Radio. Going from left to right, top to bottom, the subjects in the TV block are:
ä¸çå²:World Historyãç©ç: Physicsãè±èªI: English Iã
æ¥æ¬å²: Japanese Historyãæ°å¦åºç¤: Foundations of Mathãåå¦: Chemistryã家åºç·å: Home Economicsã
å°ç: Geographyãæ°å¦I: Math Iãçç©: Biologyãæ å ±A: Information (Technology) Aã
ãã¼ã·ãã¯æ°å¦: Basic Mathãçç§ç·åAã»B: Scienceãå°å¦: Earth Scienceãç¾è¡: Art.
I recommend starting with 家åºç·åas it was the most basic. Your classes could also include å½èª: Japanese (for native speakers, or "Language Arts" as some US schools call it)ãä½è²: Physical Educationãæ¿æ²»: Politicsãor 社ä¼: Social Studies.
One thing you should know. I spent a summer in Japan in my Junior year of high school. I only had one year of Japanese study and was completely lost in all my classes. The thing is, they don't really expect you to keep up. They will love you in English class. But for the rest of your classes you just kind of do your best. Most exchange programs don't expect you to "pass" you classes in a foreign language. You get credit for the experience.
It depends on school, my school was like this,…
school start 8:30am.
Class 1 8:30-9:20 (9:20-9:30 recess)
Class 2 9:30-10:20 (10:20-10:30 recess)
Class 3 10:30-11:20(11:20-11:30 recess)
Class 4 11:30-12:20
12:30-1:20 lunch
Class 5 1:20-2:10 (2:10-2:20 recess)
Class 6 2:20-3:10
3:10- Cleaning classroom (It was our duty. Nominated students changed every week.)
Cakes gave you a good answer. It's usually 5-6 classes a day.
Teachers change classes not you the teacher is ur slave and you get really long lunch and an half hour breakand thecourses are same just a difficult than america
From what I know, classes start later in the day, you get at least an hour for lunch, and the teachers change classrooms, not you. You should just google it.
