For the 4000 series 3 to 18V will work. 5 to 15 volts is recommended.
Note that CMOS is a transistor architecture. It means the device uses complementary (P and N channel) mosfets in a push-pull configuration. Although "CMOS" is often used as shorthand to mean the 4000 series of logic devices the term could also apply to 74HC series logic, CMOS microcontrollers or CMOS op-amps which all have totally different characteristics.
maximum of this is incredibly precise. i'm no longer hundred p.c. specific relating to the stuff written interior the final paragraph. i do no longer keep in mind analyzing this everywhere and subsequently it does not recommend this is fake: "For a CMOS to nicely known a valid good judgment 0 the enter voltage must be between 0% and 30% of the supply voltage, and for it to nicely known a valid good judgment a million, it must be between 70% and one hundred% of the supply voltage. For the output to produce a valid good judgment 0 the output voltage must be between 0% and 0.05% of the supply voltage, and to produce a valid good judgment a million, it must be between ninety 9.5% and one hundred% of the supply voltage. If you are going to use a CMOS part, you need the datasheet. Download it.
And on the datasheet, it will list the supply voltage range, which may vary slightly from part to part.

It depends on the logic family. Check the data sheet.
Dear,
Thanks, am also fine like you then dear for remind generally +12v,-12v,0v can used. And for some special Ic`s we have to refer correspond data sheet.
