okay so I've had this pain when I swallow (in the throat) about three days ago, and it hasn't stopped for a single moment since then. I often wake up at about 4:00 a clock in the morning with migraines and a slight fever, at first I thought I was just dehydrated however I had four glasses of water without any effect. Yesterday (and I admit this is pretty disgusting) I coughed up phlegm streaked with blood. I'm beginning to get worried, my dad and I looked up the possibility of tonsillitis, and he checked my throat with a torch, although they were red and irritated, they lacked one of the main symptoms which was white patches, I'm so confused! my dad says it's just a forerunner of a cold and won't take me to the doctor but I'm fairly sure it's something more.

Coughing up mucus with blood is NOT a good sign. This is NOT a cold. Get to a doctor, NOW. If you dad won't take you, get a friend, neighbor or some other adult you trust to take you to a walk-in place. You may have some type of respiratory infection that, left untreated, can develop into a major problem.
