UK uses the sterling pound. On one side is the Queen's head and on the other is a symbol of some national relevance. There are coins of 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 (100p) and £2 (200p). There are notes of £5, £10, £20 and £50. The rates continuously change but 1 Sterling Pound is roughly 1.5343 U.S. dollars and 1.18469616 Euros.
In other words, the British pound is worth more than the U.S. dollar for various reasons, because it doesn't take as much sterling to buy a gallon of milk than it would using American money.

The exchange rate changes all the time, but at the moment it's at 1 U.S. dollar = 0.651763019 British pounds.
So, 65 pence would be almost equal to $1.
:) Hope I helped!
