I personally prefer yorkies over dachshunds. But I'm fairly biased.
My mother in law and her mother both have dachshunds. They are constantly having back problems.
I had three names picked out when I got my little man. And then I waited to see his personality. I liked Toby, Bear, and Rigel. But he's definately a Rigel!!
A yorkie, definitely. If it's gonna be a boy, I suggest Ajax, New York, Jack, Beanie, Cap, Frankie, Happy, Blue, Green, Mr. Black, Satoshi, Kyosuke, Ramone, and Kris.
If it's a girl, Torai, Riki, Watisha, Robin, Max, Athena, Penanda, Balloon, Orie, Orange, Red, Freckles, Badge, Sassy, Tie, Juliet, Karin, Kami, Sam, Arwen, Button, and Jackie.
I prefer a Yorkie because we own a Yorkie/bichon mix. His name is Jackson. He loves to be with the kids and with our other dog. I would recommend a Yorkie.

I love my yorkie. Dashund's are cute too but they say they have a lot of back problems plus the shedding problem.
as much as i like yorkies they bark quite alot but i go with the daschund they are cute and friendly and don't bark as much
Dachshund Hands Down...they are the cutest dogs in the WORLD...but I may be a Bit Bias...we have a Mini Doxie..LADY-BUG is her Name!
