I get these random spells where I feel as if though life is shallow and meaningless,I also get guilty & feel worthless. I know this is symptoms of depression,I actually have 7 out of the 9 symptoms according to a health website. But I get these thoughts where I should just die or not be here because life is pretty much meaningless, even though I remind myself to live life at the fullest. Yes,I am at the point of the month where I pms; I just want to know if that has anything to do with it.I've read that schizophrenia can make you have the "life is unreal or worthless" feeling,I've dealt with this feeling for along time now, over a year and I'm tired of it.

This type of question is tricky to answer based on the above information, simply because depression and schizophrenia share so many of the same symptoms.
Just the fact that you are acknowledging that your "like is unreal or worthless" feeling is a feeling, and that you WANT to get over it would suggest that you DON'T have schizophrenia.
But it is very likely that you have a chemical imbalance associated with depression.
Schizophrenia is a widely misunderstood disorder. Even just from the answers here, we can see that most people believe schizophrenia to be synonymous with insanity. Although one of the 3 types of schizophrenia typically involves hallucinations, it is NOT a requirement of the disorder! It does not HAVE TO HAVE psychosis.
I've put together web pages on many mental health disorders, including depression and schizophrenia. Check them out. The first thing you need to do it fully understand these disorders - then you can compare them.
In regards to your PMS suggestion: If you really want to understand what's going on inside your head, I definitely suggest that you keep a journal. Write how you feel at the end of every day, and date every entry. At the end of the month, reflect on what you've written. See how closely the ups and downs follow your cycle. The hormone shift affects every woman differently - it's important to be aware of how deeply it changes your thought pattern.
I hope this helped!
about 5 years ago, I started to fall into a really depressive episode. At first I thought it was only because I had a bad break from a relationship but the feelings wouldn't go away even after I got a new girlfriend. It was wrecking my life until a point where it was seriously affecting my work and personal life.
She was very worried but at the same time couldn't understand why I was still sad and thought that I still couldn't let go of my previous relationship. Being the wonderful person that she is, she put aside her feelings and suggested I go for psychiatric evaluation. Many months later and even more anti-depressants, I was not coming close to being better at all.
After doing some research online, I found out the real cause as you described it really makes a lot of sense and purchased this program. The results were simply astonishing. I read this book over three times and put all words in action. Using this method, I've kept my depression at bay ever since. Up to date I'm still living happily with my girlfriend.
Depression Free Method?
For a women, pms can definitely affect your moods, it can be different for each person, or similar.
It would be good to talk to a doctor/proffessional about it though.
I hope you find a way to fight those feelings and be happier!
Depression can do this.
I don't think you have schizophrenia, you probably shouldn't worry about that, if you do not have other symptoms of it. Again, talk to a proffessional about it.
C:
If you were developing schizophrenia you would be hearing voices and having hallucinations.
You more than likely have dysthymia - a mood disorder characterized by feeling mildly depressed all the time for years on end... consult a GP!
Schizophrenia = a world of your own. One symptom is that you're seeing things others cant see, which is delusions/hallucinations.
All you need is a little goal or an objective in life. Be inspired.
That's just PMS. Schizophrenia HAS TO HAVE psychosis... so hallucination and delisions. You do not have Schizophrenia.
