Honestly!
I am absolutely dumbfounded by some of the questions being asked on here about pregnancy, and more to the point getting pregnant. Its just basic common sense, people need to learn there is a high risk of pregnancy despite different positions, times of the month and conditions such as pools etc.
They seem like genuine questions too alot of them. I fear for the future of society.
Update:Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Certainly, people really need to learn that these days teens DO have sex, regardless of the teachings of religion and they better tell the kids about how babies are made at least. What gets me is the people who think ignoarance is bliss and they don't want it in schools. They are gonna be the ones with a pregnant 14yo daughter.

I couldnt agree more. I wont even LOOK at the questions asking "Could I be pregnant" or "Fast way to get pregnant" or anything to that degree. Sometimes I get so pissed off at peoples ignorance that I have to leave Y!A for a while and come back because of some of the dumb questions.
I was thinking the other night, we should have a disclaimer before anyone can post a question to the parent and pregnancy section saying "If you have unprotected sex at any time during your cycle, you COULD be pregnant. No one on Y!A is qualified to tell you if you are pregnant or not, if you think you may be, go buy a pregnancy test....."
I was well informed and educated about sex. I knew that no matter what time of the month you did it, where you did it, with protection or without, there was always a chance of getting pregnant.
However I was told when I was 16, that the chances of me ever falling pregnant were about 1 in 1000, so I took that as an OK to have sex as much as I wanted.
I was 17 when I fell pregnant, I WAS that 1 in 1000, thankfully I had enough sense to take a test and confirm, get a doctors appointment & tell my parents and boyfriend, all who were supportive.
Not all teens are uninformed about sex and teen pregnancies, some just make mistakes, but there is also a lack of knowledge and a lack of education especially in schools these days. People need to realise that teens are having sex, find any statistic and it will tell you that, something needs to change.

I feel the same way some of these questions are ridiculous. My mom told me everything when i was younger she held nothing back. Today mom's are scared of promoting sex. To me not telling teens what happens and not giving the details just drives them to explore and to experience it for themselves. You can't stop teens from having sex it's impossible so giving all the details will at least help them learn and to take pre caution. For those parent who rely on schools to teach their children take the class themselves. My high school didn't even offer sex ed. Parents need to step up and teach their children this a subject that parents are responsible for any way.
you know where i come from they dont have 'sex ed' they say the best way to prevent getting pregnant is to not have sex! so think of alllll the people that did it anyways, and have no idea how to use a condom or how important it is. so to answer your question, maybe. some of us just never got the opportunity. if the states would quit bringing religion into to the matter and just teach kids about it, maybe there wouldnt be so much of a problem. i have had literally 5 friends get pregnant in the last year, and i believe this is why.
I know.
I think it should be mainly the parents talking to their kids about sex. Parents and schools need to teach it at an appropriate age. It needs to explain it's best to wait until married but inform them how you get pregnant how to prevent it, and if they are going to do it use protection. Little kids shouldn't be on the computer asking stupid questions about sex and pregnancies.
i think sex ed class should be required in high school because parents sure wont tell you every detail and i think not everyone knows exacally how pregnancy fully occurs, new cases are always found but all we know is that pregnancy can happen no matter what the circumstances.
Your are so right I get tired of reading "could I be pregnant please help". And when you do read (out of curisoity of course) you get statements like "today I had sex with my bf, he didn't use a condom, I'm not on birth control, he pull out but got some on the outside of my vagina could I be pregnant".ugh I get tired of reading these. Don't they know you can search for these kind of questions. I guess they think no one else has had this problem. Thanks for letting me vent.
lol Maybe if they taught something better than abstinence only sex education where all you learn is "to wait until you're married." Yup, that's the reason why our future generation is doomed, our f*cked up sex education.
They must have. Maybe they don't even have sex ed. anymore. That would make since why everyone is asking questions like these.
me too. that's why i'm not going to rely on schools to inform my daughter of pregnancy, how to get pregnant, etc.
