I'm on my first IVF cycle and had quit smoking for a month before it started, but then with the stress of it all I started smoking 2 or 3 cigarettes a day.
I had my first follicle scan and blood test after 9 days on stims and I had 10 follies 5 over 10mm and 5 under but they said my estrogen was unusually low and now I have to go back for another ultrasound and blood test in 3 days.
I think they may cancel me.
Does anyone know if this could have been because of the smoking?
Would it be better to cancel?
Did anyone get a BFP with low estrogen?
I am so confuses any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

your best bet is honestly to call the IVF clinic for answers as only they, or another specialised medical professional, would know.
If they cancel you over the smoking, isn't it better just to stop smoking? I know how hard it is - I gave up myself - but if you smoke while pregnant you make the baby addicted to nicotine and risk having a premature birth (might not sound like much, having a premmie, but they're in and out of hospital with health problems for at least a year after the birth - horrendous for both baby and parents). It will certainly only do you, and your future child, good to quit now. Good luck.
To be honest I very much doubt it had anything to do with it to be honest. If smoking lowerred the production of estrogen smokers would find it almost impossible to become pregnant naturally and that is just not the case. Loads and loads of smokers get pregnant without any help whatsoever. And may I add I am a smoker and a much heavier smoker than yourself and conceived 2 children with clomid.
My obgyn was actually very supportive and said that smoking increases the risk of miscarriage according to research but when you look at the numbers of miscarriages that have occurred and how many women actually smoked when it happened it really doesnt prove that smoking is a factor.
She reckons that it is more to do with age and the older the person becomes the more prone they are to problems such as placenta abrubtio, miscarriage and still birth.
Also estrogen is the hormone that ensures that your womb lining is nice and fat and able to hold a pregnancy. To be honest it seems to me that maybe you are slow at being stimulated with the hormones or they need to adjust your doses.
I wouldnt worry about the smoking and I certainly wouldnt tell the clinic that you smoke because your right if they think you are smoking you will be cancelled.
Just stop worrying I very much doubt smoking was the cause of your problem.
Best of luck

my hubby has low motility that is only 5% motile although my tests are normal but because of low mot sperms are not able to move forward and reach egg. 2 years tried with supp vit but no use then we tried IUI in which selected healthy sperms are injected directly to uretus but 3 times no result becouse sperms was not motile again tried with IVF in which selected sperms are injected directly into egg to fertilize --2 times no result waiting for 3 result-- these are steps towards +ve result in low motility case.
