Hello! I'm in high school, and I'm wondering if anyone has tips on how to diet during my busy schedule. Because of school, I rarely drink water (so I don't have to pee all the time) and I NEVER eat breakfast (in the mornings I'm never hungry and feel sick) or lunch (hate eating at school). Then after school, I come home and stuff my face with everything because I'm starving from not eating all day. I know it's unhealthy so I'm trying to change. Do you think I should start eating small breakfasts and at least bring a snack to school or something? And how do I go about drinking enough water? I really don't want to drink a lot at school because I always have to pee when I drink water.
If I change my diet and eat breakfast, lunch, and drink water, will that actually HELP me lose weight? I'm not really "fat" but I'd like to lose at least 10 pounds and get thinner legs.
Thanks!

Breakfast is SO important, and very essential in ANY diet for it's many benefit's which provide you through you're "entire" day.
If you need to have something small and on the go, try a nutritional supplement shake such as:
- Ensure, Ensure Clinical Strength
- Boost
- Or, Carnation Instant Breakfast
(My personal favourite is Ensure/ Ensure Clinical Strength because it has 26 essential nutrient's per each 235mL bottled shake, and comes in a variaty of flavour's; which taste best chilled. It has has a source of protein, calcium omegas 3/6 and probiotic's.)
Try a nutritional supplement listed above while on the way to school, there small and easy to chug!
Maybe you can pack you'reself a banana or medium fruit with it or a trail mix (1/4 cup nut's/ seeds, 1/4 cup dried fruit, 1/2 cup pretzels or wholegrain cereal)
Other good, quick breakfast ideas which are "food" based, - which is better would be ..
- Instant oat's (2pkg's) or cup of wholegrain/ fiber cereal
- With a cup of milk, or 1/2 cup yoghurt
- Added fruit in oat's (1/4 cup dried fruit, 1/2 cup berries; fresh or frozen, 1/2 cup canned fruit or diced medium fruit such as an apple/ banana/ etc .. also 250mL of fruit juice is great!)
- Added 1/4 cup nut's/ seeds or 2TBSP natural crunchy nut butter mixed in hot oat's.
- Optional TBSP cinnamain, nutmeg, brown sugar, artificale sweetener or honey in oat's for flavour.
- Slice of 100% wholewheat toast; english muffin/ crumpet; waffle or bagel
- 2TBSP Natural nut butter, optional TBSP jam/ fruit preserve
- Sliced fruit ontop of toast and nut butter (ie: sliced banana, sliced apple, sliced 3/4 cup strawberrys or 1/4 cup sprinkled dried fruit ~ raisins/ craisins) Or consume with seperate medium fruit, 1/2 cup canned fruit- applesauce or 250mL fruit juice/ juice box.
- 1/2 Cup yoghurt, 50g Cheese/ cheese snack (ie: Babybell/ Cheese String/ Laughing Cow), 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese or 250mL 1-2% milk or chocolate milk.
Hope i'v helped, best of luck!
- Sandwhiches; PB&J Or Turkey/ chicken/ ham/ roast beef or omelette sandwhich with serving of sliced/ shredded cheese, are a great ideal for lunch with yoghurt and a medium fruit (or crunchy vegetables and hummus instead of fruit*)
- Or canned tuna, canned baked beans, canned chili with wholegrain crackers and 50g diced cheese or added 1/3 cup shredded in beans/ chili with your'e choice of either; crunchy vegetables and hummus, side salad with dressing/ vinagrette, 250mL fruit juice, medium fruit or canned fruit/ applesauce is also a good lunch ideal.
Dinner's up to you! Make it balanced (ie: 4-5oz Lean protein, 3/4 cup wholegrain startch and 3/4 cup cooked vegetables in TBSP olive oil; or side salad, TBSP vinagrette (olive oil and vinagrette base)
Optional 1/4 cup lentils/ chickpeas/ beans/ baked beans.
Include snacks too, high in calcium!
Best of luck!
Exercise would probably be the best way to tone your legs, not actually dieting if you're not overweight.
Always eat in the morning and take some fruit or something of that sort for lunch at school. Take a water bottle to drink your water every day, as that is the best thing for you. Certainly you have bathrooms, so what is the big problem with having to pee at school?
Stuffing yourself late in the day like you are is a sure way to gain weight, not lose, so you better change the way you're eating.
Start small. If you have a sensitive stomach in the mornings try plain oatmeal. It is filling, healthy and shouldn't irritate the stomach. pack a lunch for school, a sandwich with veggies or a salad and some fruit. My doc says water does not mean h2o, but any liquid beverage (of course you want to avoid sodas, etc.) Go to restroom whenever you have the opportunity. Dehydration can cause you to bloat
My suggestion:
Eat big in your breakfast, because it is the most important meal of the day, you can just skip lunch, have a quick snack and drink, and eat naturally in dinner. I've done what you said earlier, eating big in dinner is really bad because your metabolism goes slow while sleeping, therefore the more you eat, there will be an increase in fat IN which i know you don't like.
decrease back on what you consume for dinner. as a replace of having thirds, of each thing, consume the nutrients. and in the adventure that your nonetheless hungry, consume some fruit. yet weight-reduction plan as a young person isnt constantly healthful. purely consume suitable and excersize and you need to be the the final option length
