divorce/kids?
why does our legal system seemingly always side with the women where the kids are concerned? i pay my child support every week, i always pick up my kids when i am supposed and drop them off on time. both of them want to live with me, yet i fear that i will not get a judgement in my favor if i try to get custody. by the way, the kids mom is also mentally and emotionally abusive.

My advice: get dirty with it. Get mom's mean, nasty, mentally ill side on hidden videotape. Once you got a clear slice of such evidence, discreetly handle it to your lawyer...oh...have a copy made for her lawyer, too....it's only the civil thing to do.
Actually, this should've been done BEFORE divorce was even started.....still, you can try and I wish you all the world's luck.
In answering your other question: Divorce settlements have favored women well over the past 40 or so years. Largely, it's a matter of having the courts rule at the right time in our evolving civil rights history (mid-late 1960's), with radical Supreme Court judgements (probably made while the justices got stoned on pot) that clearly favor women.
Women today do NOT fear divorce....in fact, they embrace the idea!!!!
However, these divorce court rules are said to be "balanced" and "fair".....yeah, right. And we men put up w/ the bull s*it!!
My parents divorced when I was way young, and I lived with my dad. If your kids state that they want to live with you, and you're a responsible parent, I don't know why you couldn't get custody. Especially if they kids spoke up about their mom being abusive.
the courts always dont favor the woman and if she is abusive and you can prove that the courts may give you custody and she will end up paying the child support
because the child came from her body. If you want to fight..get a lawyer
