im flying out of an little airport in ky. and i was wondering if they run criminal background checks on you. or if any airports run criminal background checks on you.
When I was applying to a major carrier, the principal officers of one of my previous employers was contacted during the background check. Interesting thing is that my previous employer had been out of business for about 3 years. They still managed to track down the company's president for info.
Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.
You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.
To answer your question the airport will not run a back ground check on you unless you apply for an airport badge they are required to go back 10-years. There are certain crimes that would block you from getting an ID badge.
Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations
TSR 1544
Disqualifying criminal offenses
This lists over 24 offenses they would not allow you to obtain an ID badge. However just flying in and out paying your parking fees would not raise an eyebrow. But I assume you hold an FAA pilot certificate and with that you can operate anywhere in the U.S. you want, well almost anywhere.
