I second Pidlan's answer. When I hear Breton, it sounds rather like someone speaking Welsh with a very very strong French accent. Also, in spite of being a native Welsh speaker, I can't understand very much Breton at all.
Just a bit.... Breton, Welsh and Cornish are all in the same branch (Brythonic) of Celtic languages whereas Manx, Irish and Scots Gaelic are in the Goedelic branch.
Welsh sounds and looks more like Cornish than Breton though...Bretons have a French 'twang' when they speak Breton.
