* I had this question posted before & got some helpful responses & wanted to say thank you to everyone because the next thing I knew the question was 'closed' & I don't know how that happened. Sorry.
One of you who had previously responded had asked if we installed Vista over another OS (?), but Vista was on our computer when we got it. How do I know if there's too much on the computer? It's supposed to have 4 somethings of memory, so I'm REALLY confused...
Does anyone understand Windows Vista?!?!?!?
I can't figure out how to do ANYTHING!
How do I find my cache? How do I empty it?
How do I take my downloaded music files & burn them onto a CD?
I keep getting the message "last backup failed"--how do I fix that?
I keep getting the message "low disc space"--how do I fix that?
A friend of ours (whom we no longer see) set up our computer & now neither my husband or I can figure it out! :( Any practical help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you need to learn the best thing to do is a little reading. The first is a simple how to by Microsoft, it is the basics of Vista.

To clear your cache. Open internet explorer. At the top click Tools>>Internet Options>>Browsing History...select Delete. Anther window will open up. Select Delete All
To burn you music files to cd-r or dvd-r open your burning software (ie. Nero, roxio) and burn as a data project and finalize disc.
What program are you using when you get the message "last backup failed"
To address you low disc space Well you need to start ac ommand prompt with administrator privileges and from there do "vssadmin list shadowstorage" which will tell you how much disk space is in use by System Restore and what the maximum is.
Fixing the problem is also done using vssadmin with the "Resize ShadowStorage" option. Set to 6 GB if no limit is set.
Good luck
