Yes -- of course. Some schools accept only certain statistics. They have to do whatever their political and economics criteria dictates. If they need so many males, or so many females to measure up to government mandates, U better believe sex matters. Same with race. If a predominately white school needs more black or asian students it will try to do that. If U are a white student applying to an all black college of course race matters.
only when applying for scholarships, they have scholarships for women or men, and for different ethnic backgrounds such as Native American and what not. Other wise if its just for attending, unless it is strictly a men's or women's college, it does not matter, most schools are equal opportunity.
