Dont understand video cards?

i recently got a laptop for Christmas. Its an inspiron so i didnt expect to do alot of gaming on it since i am more of a console gamer (but thanks to Steam im becoming more and more a PC gamer). So i got play Fallout New Vegas, apparently i have to play on low and still then it has quite alot of lag. So i go to systemrequirementslab and test if i can play it, says i fail. thats underwstandable so i check why i cant play it says this

Now on the video card it says i pass all the features yet fail for the card itself, and this is confusing because i cant tell the difference between the cards.So i was hoping someone could explain this to me?

Update:

It said i need 256 mb, while it says i have 1.7 gbs in Video RAM
