i recently got a laptop for Christmas. Its an inspiron so i didnt expect to do alot of gaming on it since i am more of a console gamer (but thanks to Steam im becoming more and more a PC gamer). So i got play Fallout New Vegas, apparently i have to play on low and still then it has quite alot of lag. So i go to systemrequirementslab and test if i can play it, says i fail. thats underwstandable so i check why i cant play it says this

Now on the video card it says i pass all the features yet fail for the card itself, and this is confusing because i cant tell the difference between the cards.So i was hoping someone could explain this to me?

Graphic processing units (GPU) of laptops are not upgradable. If you have a Intel GMA GPU, then your video card does not meet the minimum requirement of that game. It said that NVIDIA 6800 or better/ATI X850 or better video cards are requires, try browsing to this website (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net),/ check those cards so you can see what cards will be able to play that game. Cards listed from the Nvidia6800 or ATIx850 and above should do.
Sorry, but your laptop has garbage integrated Intel GMA 4500 graphics, which isn't meant for gaming AT ALL. It's OK for streaming youtube videos, and your basic everyday computer use, and nothing else. Gaming on the GMA 4500 would be like trying to win a monster truck rally on a bicycle. Just not happening. You're just out of luck when it comes to gaming on that thing. Sell it and get yourself one with at least the mobile HD 5850, or GTX 460M chip, if you want to stand a chance in New Vegas and similar games.

That is not a video card with 256MB RAM or better. That's a video chipset with no RAM at all.

The requirement says "video card with 256MB RAM". You do not have a video card with 256MB RAM. The requirement is specifically for the video *card's* memory which is not the same as video memory. Your video card has no memory at all.
Laptop version of video chips are quite different from desktop version of video chips. You cannot change the video card in your laptop since it's very difficult to do so. If your laptop is not meant for gaming, so don't expect it to run high-end games like New Vegas. You can try to find an upgrade for your laptop video card.
Sometimes, CYRI maybe wrong. It said my system wont even HALO2:COMBAT EVOLVED and PRINCE OF PERSIA. But, my system is blowing these games like a wind :D
