Exotic places in Westeren Europe?
Hi,
Visiting Westeren Europe for a month starting London, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switz, France, Spain, Itay and Greece. I am not a great fan of beautiful places (like beaches, alps, lakes) cause we have all those here in New Zealand. I want to go to more historic places and Exotic places like Amsterdam, Berlin (for the rich history), Paris (for great architecture) etc... Also any other places where I can explore extreme culture.

A bit disgusting, if you ask me. But there is a restaurant in Berlin with great burgers that would actually give it to you for free if you will be able to finish the mega burger.

In Berlin you have several weird restaurants, including a couple where you eat in the dark, guided only by your other senses(!). There used to be a great water restaurant (in a pool), but I think it is shut.

If you will be in Paris and looking for interesting old architecture, take a day trip to Troyes. Many of the half timbered from the Middle Ages in the city are very well preserved and the city is full of churches with interesting architecture. My favourite of the churches is Eglise Sainte-Madeleine, it is the oldest and is very ornate.
Brussels is great if you are looking for modern architecture, by a contrast, Bruges is more historical and more of what people picture of Belgian cities.
If you want to see castles in the UK, go to Cardiff for a day, in additional to the wonderful castle in the city centre, there is Castell Goch and Caerphilly Castles nearby. The city is very lively so if you want a night on the town, this is a good place to do it.
