I'm just having an argument with my best friend about who is the best Sarah Dessen boy and why? Anyone read the Sarah Dessen books and want to add some input? Tell me your favorite Sarah Dessen guy and why! Here are mine:
*Wes from The Truth About Forever because he's artistic, supposedly gorgeous (I pictured him kind of like James Franco but younger you know?), a runner, a nice guy, respects Macy, sweet, and a good kid all around. (This is what my friend and I are fighting about; she didn't like Wes at all!)
*Norman from Keeping the Moon (or Last Chance) because he's a hippie, into the same kind of music I'm into, an artist, sweet, funny, into sunglasses (hehe), kind of cute, he cooked for her (score!), treated her well, that thing he does when he pushes her hair behind her ear.
*Dexter from This Lullaby because he's funny, goofy, spazzy, a musician, a guitarist (swoon!), sweet, innocent, fun but he could be romantic too you know? Good looking, can make her laugh, and likes the Beatles.
bonus: Who's your least favorite guy? I hated Macon from Someone Like You. He was kind of a douche, he pressured her and all that stuff, I just didn't like him.

I definately like Wes. That was the first book I ever read by Sarah Dessen, and probably my favorite. I never wanted to stop reading it. I can't believe your friend doesn't like him! What doesn't she like about him? He's very sweet and respectful--way better than her smart "nerd" boyfriend! And they play "Truth" which is a clever and amazing game. What an artist! :)
I'm not a fan of Macon either. Idk, something about him is just fishy! :)
Beatles rule :)
I love Wes! <3 I just read The Truth About Forever last week...in two days! I couldn't stop myself seriously. Even after I finished reading the book, I kept going back to all the previous events, reviewing my favorite ones..my favorite book ever. I have not read her other books yet, though.
I think Wes is my favorite because of his style and how he rocks that bad boy look, but deep down, he's really sweet and caring, especially for his brother, Bert. I love artistic men, too, and also because he has a tattoo that symbolizes what his mother told him about the connection with the hand in heart. I absolutely love how he changed his old ways after the depression with his mother's death. Also, because he spends his time at parties playing Truth with Macy. I love how he can be so honest. I love how he takes things at his own pace like trying to tell Macy about how he felt about her. I loved how he took her elbow and eventually held her hand at that one party. I love how they almost kissed. And I love how in the end, after their kiss, he still kept in touch with her during the summer by going to the beach a couple of times and he was the one who made her go back to running! And after everything that happened between them, they still kept playing Truth <3
I really liked Owen from Just Listen. I think because of his honesty. I'm big on being honest and he always seemed to know just what to say to. But even though he was honest it sort of brought out his faults and his quirks and I just loved him. And his obsession with music. I have never been obsessed with anything but books and I do like music and the concept was captivating to me. Plus I loved the story behind Just Listen. And I connected better with Annabel's way of running from her problems.
But I also really liked Dexter from This Lullaby. He was adorable and really romantic at the right moments.
Owen from Just Listen, because he is honest, loyal, and strong. And because he was there for Annabel when she needed him most, when no one else was willing to even listen to her. Plus he would do anything to protect her. Although Wes is great too. But Macon was horrible, although he was okay in the movie, in the book he was definitly a disappointing leading man.
