I have a MIM fender stratocaster that i just got a few months ago. It sounds and plays great, the only problem is with the higher frets on the high e. If i try to bend anything past the 12th fret or so, the string runs into a higher fret around the area of the b or g string, which just mutes out the note. It's really annoying, seeing as I cant play those notes and i bend high notes a ton in the style i play. Anybody know how to fix this?

Hi! You probably have one or possibly two frets that are slightly higher than the others in the higher register. It may be that the high fret(s) was just not pressed fully into the slot of the fretboard. If you purchased the instrument new, you should be able to take it to a Fender Service Center (see http://www.fender.com/support/service_centers/ ) and have it repaired for free; if not, this would be a very inexpensive fix ($30 or less), able to be completed by any reputable shop. They will find the offending fret by using a tool like the "Fret Rocker" (see http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Measuring_tools/... for an example), and either lightly tap it down into place (if not properly seated) or file and crown it to the level of the adjacent frets. Best regards, Dana
sounds like you need at least need to get your frets dressed. Go to your local music store and they should be able to dress your frets for unser $100.00
At worst you my need to have your guitar neck adjusted or even new frets installed which could run $200 to $300.
