I've been giving an art exam, one option is to do a project on "Traces" which means things left behind, which can relate to forensics.
I'm very interested in creating art with in the forensics side I just need some ideas, I'm also interested in using blood splatter in my art (I've been watching a lot of Dexter) I just don't know how, I need some inspiration.
Sherlock Holmes was also a suggestion given, and I love Sherlock Holmes so I'd love to do something related to that, I just don't know what I could do!
So, any ideas?

I don't know what style you are more fond of but if you like doing something a bit 3D with lots of media to use, I would suggest you do a miniature room and then decorate it yourself with blood splatters.
You can also make a mod rock head and then make it gruesome with red paint etc. Use cotton to make the texture a bit like clotted blood. (sorry I'm blabbering ^_^)
If you like 2D paintings, you may want to paint a finger print, I think it will take a long time but it's pretty simple. Or you could find a scene or screenshot in Sherlock Holmes then paint that.
Blood sprays. Water down some paint an put it in a spray bottle or squirt gun. Another option is to dip a knife into the paint and make a slashing motion so the paint runs off the knife. The paint should be the consistency of blood.
sounds cool
