Foundation Undertones?
Well... The first Foundation colour I picked was both too pink looking on me and light. I got a shade darker....the colour is fine but the hue is pink o......o
I am warm undertone ...do you think I'd be able to use the shade darker and get away with the wrong hue til I can get a new shade?
I'm using maybelline dream smooth mousse.
The first colour was classic ivory and the shade darker (the one I'm using now) is nude beige.
I thought the pick was the natural rosy blush that I've always had...but it wasn't...it was the hue D:

It's really important to get the right shade and undertone for a foundation to look good. You want it to dissappear on your face, not to look like a mask.
Go try a warmer undertone. You can usually try it before buying it. They should have testers already available and if they don't feel free to ask the cosmetic lady if they have a replacement tester that hasn't been put on the display yet. Put a little bit of foundation along your jaw line and blend. It should look invisible.
About the darker shade you already have, if you noticed it's not the right shade, you can bet people will notice too. You can always keep it and see if, mixed with a warmer undertone, it looks right. Otherwise, you can always use it on the apples of your cheek and along your temples, like some very subtle blush.
I would return an get the warmer shade, I think. I, too, have a warmer undertone and foundation shades that are too pink can accentuate my redness and make me look a little orange, too.
I would check the foundation in natural light, because natural light is the harshest. If it looks okay in natural light, then it will probably look good in any other lighting. But, I think I would exchange for a different shade :)
