I am getting discharged on my second enlistment in the Marine Corps General under honorable conditions with 3 years completed on this contract. Do I rate unemployment benefits? i already served 4 years (2003-2007), got out with an honorable discharge and was collecting 70% disability and rejoined after 6 months of being out. while in my 7th year i fell ill again and was placed on a Physical Evaluation Board and was being recommended for medical retirement and was rated by the VA as being 100% disabled for my problems (while in iraq in 2005 a jet engine blew up feet away from my head and i developed Menieres disease, Tumarkin Crisis, and Sporadic Memory Dysfunction Disorder) but my medical package was thrown out by the command due to these administrative proceedings occuring during the board process........ Some background on what i got in trouble for.... I got in trouble for shoplifting....napkins from a store. before people start judging me, be aware that I have no memory of the event due to my medical situation and i was on a crap load of medications...plus they were napkins basic paper napkins. the civilian law enforcement recognized that and dropped all charges. I was a Sgt. and was NJP'D for it and am now being ADSEP'd out for "misconduct". the command feels that I put the Marine corps in a bad light especially as an NCO. I have no prior trouble at all except a page 11 for being late when I first came in the marine corps. I know that I rate my va benefits including the GI Bill, due to already having an honorable discharge by confirming this with the VA, however the unemployment site for CA is very vague, It only states that you must have gotten out under honorable conditions. I know for a fact that OTH,BCD, and Dishonorable ur screwed but for general nothing says anything on that.
