I do not have access to fresh cherries and I am needing to make a cherry pie for Thanksgiving this week. I would rather not use the canned pie filling. Will it taste ok with frozen sweet cherries for the pie filling? I am in need of a good recipe. Thanks!

Here is a delicious recipe for cherry frangipane, which is an almond cherry pie.

Pie Filling from Frozen sweet Cherries constituents: • 6 -6 1/2 cups thawed frozen darkish sweet cherries, and juice • 1/eight teaspoon salt • half of-1 cup sugar (I only use half cup, we don't like our pies too sweet) • 4 -5 tablespoons cornstarch • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh or bottled recommendations: 1 Reserve about half of cup juice and mix the cornstarch in it.(4-5 tbsp, relying on how thick you love your filling) 2 mix sugar with cherries and juices and cook dinner until effervescent. 3 Stir consistently if cooking on range discontinue. 4 within the microwave I cook at 5 minute intervals and stir in between. 5 Add the reserved juice/cornstarch combo and stir to mix. 6 cook dinner for roughly three minutes unless thickened. 7 Cool and use to your favourite pie crust.

1 Reserve about 1/2 cup juice and mix the cornstarch in it.(4-5 tbsp, depending on how thick you like your filling)
2 Mix sugar with cherries and juices and cook till bubbling.
3 Stir constantly if cooking on stove stop.
4 In the microwave I cook at 5 minute intervals and stir in between.
5 Add the reserved juice/cornstarch mixture and stir to mix.
6 Cook for about 3 minutes until thickened.
7 Cool and use in your favorite pie crust.
