I'm 18, and just about to start an art course with the intention of becoming a graphic designer or graphic illustrator. I would concentrate on honing your skills with computer programes like photoshop and other drawing programmes, as technology is where everything is leading these days. Obviously take art GCSE and A levels, and if you want to be a graphic designer, take graphics as your GCSE technology option if your school offers it.

Maybe see if there are any graphic design companies operating in your area, that you could do work experience on. Look at the work being produced by designers around you, and develop your own skills in the area you think would be most useful. Good luck with your ambition

Practice, practice, practice, and get your art out there. It's a very competitive job market. Make sure when you apply to a group you follow what they want or you will bar yourself from a lot of jobs.
