Are there any public gun ranges in Massachusetts? I don't want to go there often so not a club. Also if possible are there any places with more than just handguns and hunting rifles/shotguns? Thanks!
Im sure there are... Im in MA too but I shoot on my land (cause I live in West Townsend in the woods lol) but I do sometimes head to Manchester Firing Line.
Here is the website.. not only is it public, but you can rent ANYTHING. Its kinda cool, if you dont mind dropping some money you can rent fully automatics.
Its good for the occasional shooter but I get bored there because Im more of a distance shooter and they dont have a 100yd range, let alone a 200 or 300yd range.
I live in the Lowell area, and I only know of gun clubs around here. I know of a "public" gun range in Manchester, N.H. I think I'm using the term right in that you don't have to be a member to shoot there. Anyone can walk in and pay for some range time. You can also rent firearms there. I haven't been to it, but saw it on Brown Ave. on the way to the airport. A guy I know goes there.
A lot of the gun clubs in my area are only about a hundred bucks a year after joining. At my range, I have a card that lets me in to the indoor range whenever I want, so it's very convenient for my busy schedule. On the Where to Shoot link that CF45 gave you, it will list some clubs as being open to the public. What this often means is that they have a day when trap shooting is open to the public.
