Our school allow the kids to dress up... you may have a theme but just let her dress up in her halloween outfit that she was planning on wearing anyway.
if you really want to go the disco theme... just dress her up in a straight short skirt or skort, cute boots or maryjanes, and a cute blouse. Then put a large headband in her hair and she can go as a disco girl.
Don't stress... it is a cute time for the kids.. my kids are still young so they love dressing up for halloween and it is such a fun time, too.
I usually buy stuff off the rack, then I buy stuff at the fabric store to dress it up and make it more individual. Like I found a straight black dress (so, I went to the store and bought my daughter some black, sheer material with red spiders, I will make that into a cape for her and then make a hood to go with it.)
My son has a black ninja outfit ... that had all these cheap plastic stuff on it ... hard to wear and really not his size still, so... I am removing the plastic stuff... bought him some other pirate stuff that was off the shelf at target -- and then will sew a new belt and sash for his sword, paint his face with the black eyes for being a panda and he will go as Kung fu panda -- i don't like masks because they block his view and also the stuff that goes on top of his head -- he tends to complain by the end of the day. So, painting his face is easier and cheaper, too.
