Modern Warfare 2 hype has died down over the months., and its getting pretty old. Halo Reach is something new for all gamers to do, until Black Ops comes out. Then Call of Duty freaks will go back to that game.
Both are great games. Campaign wise, Reach is by far the better of the two, I thought MW2's was way too over the top and very unrealistic (the whole russia invading D.C. thing was pretty dumb IMO). I also thought Reach's campaign was one of the best that I've played in quite awhile (for a FPS game). Multiplayer I will give the edge to MW2, even though all the killstreaks, hackers, and balancing issues somewhat makes it a crapshoot sometimes. Reach follows Halo 2 and 3 with terrible spawning, which is my main problem with it. Most of the maps are also remake of maps from Halo's 1-3, which is somewhat of a let down, but they are good for the most part. I love the custom classes for MW2, which is why I have to say it is better.
Personally I think that Modern Warfare 2 is much better. The only reason I don't like Reach is the sci-fi theme of it. I settle for much more basic and modern day warfare (hence the name). Plus, in each Call of duty game after mw1 there are special modes like nazi zombies and spec ops which are really fun. MW2 is also a lot less complicated. My opinion.

Halo is way better because modern warfare is just a basic warfare game but halo is a whole new experience.
In hype halo wins bigtime.
