headaches.....................?
im seventeen and have had a head just over two weeks not all the time but worse than i normally have had. the 1s week i got them was on a thursday and that was on going and only went away for couple of hours and then came back again and didn't stop till around tuesday. then i didn't get 1 till couple of days after but only around once or twice a day. what do you reckon would be the problem?

Have you taken any medication for the pain?
This could be a migraine - what are the symptoms of the headache, do you have any of these symptoms:
- Flashing lights or colours in front of your eyes (and when they are closed)
- Difficulty articulating words, e.g. you say the wrong word for an object
- Difficulty tolarating bright light, loud noises or concentrating on a TV or computer
- Severe pain 'behind' one or both eyes, or on the top of the head
- Throbbing in your temples
- nausea, indigestion or lack of appetite (and when you feel this way, painkillers also don't seem to work)
- Increased throbbing when you climb stairs or move suddenly
All these are migraine symptoms. I have regular severe migraines, which have been known to last up to two weeks. They will certainly go on if I don't take painkillers. I don't get all the above symptoms (for example, I have never experienced flashing lights). Sometimes, a migraine can cause your digestive system to run slowly or shut down for a couple of hours, which is why some people get indigestion or nausea, and also the painkillers don't get absorbed as well.
For the pain, I just take normal painkillers, I start off with two paracetamol/aspirin (in the UK we have a tablet containing both) and if the pain does not go, 4 hours later I take 2 Ibuprofen. These two together normally deal with the pain. Migraleve is pretty good also.
There could be other causes, like Sinusitis or Flu which could cause a headache like this. Go to the doctor, drink plenty of water and get some rest.
