At my 11 week ultrasound it was 169. I am having a boy.
No you don't even have to ask people. There is NO TRUTH to the tale, Babies start off with a really really fast heart beat and it slows down later in pregnancy (I think) and when they're born.
At 9 weeks it they were 178 and 180. At 14 weeks they were 152 and 143. We are having twin boys. It is an old wives tale that girls have a higher heart rate. There is no proof that it's true. In fact there is more proof that it isn't true. It's still fun to wonder though.
They hold absolutely no basis in truth whatsoever.
A baby's heartrate in very early gestation will range from 90 to about 120 I believe and as the pregnancy progresses, it will range from 130'ish to 170. My numbers could be off, I'm going off of memory from the same question posted a few days ago that I answered, but the point that you cannot use heartrate to determine gender.
The only two ways to determine gender and be accurate are fluid sampling and ultrasound.
My son's heartrate was all over the place. It ranged from the 180's to the 140's. My husband and I asked our midwife where the heartrate/gender idea came from. She said it was a study done on adults! Not much truth to it
my doctor says it true about 85% of the time. however, it was wrong BOTH times for me. with my son his stayed in the high 150s to 160s my daughters has been in the 130s to 140s

I'm not sure what my lil boy's was but I know that the wives tale has no truth what so ever!
No truth in that.. Also, the heart beat will slow as he gets bigger. At ten weeks, it's pretty darn fast..It will slow down as he gets bigger.
