I am signing up to take an Honors Physics class next year.
How much math would be involved? [which kinds]
I heard it's algebra based, which I'm good at. But I don't know if I would need to know other types of math [trigonometry, etc.]
Any help would be great!
Update:I have not taken any trigonometry classes. Should I read up on basic trig. before the class?

Talking about Physics in high school, well, it's not that complicated like its college counterpart.
The math involved here are geometry, intermediate algebra and trigonometry.
The formula involved in solving acceleration, velocity and displacement are just basics, it's easy trust me!
The vectors and object motions are geometry based with graphs and diagrams.
The following:
Forces & Friction
Energy
Momentum
Circular Motion & Gravitation
Rotational Motion
Harmonic Motion
->are using algebra and a little trigonometry invovled like the cosine, sine, tangent, cotangent which I believe is easy enough for you to handle.
And the other below are basically interpreted by diagrams and graphs:
Waves
Thermodynamics
Electric Charge & Electric Fields
Electric Circuits
Magnetism
Electromagnetism
Light
Lenses & Mirrors
Physical Optics
Relativity
Quantum Physics
Particle Physics
Here, there are also equations invovled but it's not too complicated to understand..
Note: It's better you study in advance, it's a big advantage for you especially if you are a candidate for valedictorian.
physics is a practical science (compared to biology, chemistry, etc.)
you need both algebra and trigonometry. a little bit of calculus, but yeah, not so much.
to be good in physics, you must study and practice hard. it's not that complicated really. when you keep on practicing, you will find it easy to remember the concepts and the formula.
good luck!
basic algebra for using "x" as a variable u know!!!
basic Trigonometry the triangles and angles u know!!!
btw it just a matter of reading, understanding and analyzing the problem and hardwork...
u don't need to worry!!! study a lot before the quiz...
know your trig!!!! trig isn't taught much in highschool
