high school?
i'm going into high school this fall and was just wondering
do you get a whole new group of friends?
do things really change [socially] or are they basically same as 8th grade?
i was kind of hoping that i wouldd pretty much be able to start over withh a new group of friends but wasn't sure if the cliques stay pretty much the same as in middle school?
any help/advice/feedback would be much appreciated =]
Update:by the way theres only one middle school leading up to our high school, but theres about 450 in my grade

It depends on your school. Are several middle schools merging into a larger high school? One very effective way to re-make how people feel about you is to always think about how things you say and do will affect the person that you say or do it to. In other words, put yourself in their place before you speak or act.
Also, always maintain a sunny disposition. If you think about the people that you really enjoy being around, you'll find that they have a positive, sunny outlook.

Yes things can change in high school pretty drastically. The cliques in high school are pretty different due to the fact that they are a lot different than in middle school! Most likely you can make fiends with a whole other group!
hey... im in the same situation, but i have one class at the high school, so i sorta know what its like. i think that some of the closest friends stay the same, but becuase high school is usually bigger, and its a different atmosphere, i think it should be pretty easy to branch out a lot. High school is less clique-ey, and more open groups, but close friends stay primarily... good luck!
It depends on how strong the friendships are. I mean when I went from 8th grade to highscool (way back when) the crew I hung out with, most of them stayed together- but other poeple hung out with us too (from the other middle schools) BUT sometimes people change and drift off into other groups, it does happen but in highschool you will meet new and different people...sometimes you'll meet your life long bestfriend and you could be total opposits! it happens!
it is a whole new playing ground!! i loved high school.. some of the groups will stay the same, but you will get to meet so many new people and get into new groups... the possibilities are endless!! have a great time!!
because of different classes and in some schools lunches, it's hard to stay close with your friends from the previouse year.
you'll meet lots of new people from your classes who you might not stay friends with for longer than a semestar.\just dont worry too much about it.

my advice would be to try to get tighter and closer with the group you want to hang out with and things will be easier in the school year.
start by just like texting them.
keep your old friends they are usually the best and more trusting
